Given the instant sunshine + 75 degrees here in Minneapolis today, it seemed like the right time to write about our recent buying trip to Los Angeles J
In the past we had only been to market shows, where vendors pay to set up a booth and display their seasonal collections in a large convention center type of environment (to read more about market, check out our Vegas post here). It can be somewhat of a chaotic & exhausting environment, so we decided to be adventurous & try something we had never done before (but have heard a lot of good things about): the L.A. showrooms. These are beautiful office-like spaces where different collections or lines of clothing are permanently held so that retailers have the ability to pop in and see what’s new in the world of fashion!
We saw many gorgeous showrooms while we were downtown L.A., but one of my faves is shown below. The showroom had clothing lines for men & women, complete with a casual pool table in the middle & a stocked bar (I’m feeling like we need to incorporate this concept into our office space).
It was great to preview some of the lines coming out in fall/winter of 2015 – here is a sneak peek!
Outside of work, we transformed into total tourists and visited a few pockets of L.A. we were dying to see! On the last day of our trip, we opted for a happy hour at Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills, followed by dinner at Sur Restaurant in West Hollywood, where we caught a glimpse of Lisa Vanderpump filming Vanderpump Rules. I regret to inform there were no other celebrity sightings – our dream to become BFF’s with Jen Aniston is a dream that will have to live on for now! Hope you enjoy the touristy photos & have a great hump day!
