They say the only thing constant in life is change and when it comes to launching a new business change is the name of the game. After months of contemplation, we have made a pretty major decision that we are eager to share with our tall girl family. Though our Amalli Talli brick & mortar store is truly our little baby, our labor of love and undoubtedly our home away from home (or maybe more accurately, it’s our first home), we have made the bittersweet decision to transition our business entirely online in the next two weeks. Saturday, February 18th is the final day the store will be open.
2016 was an interesting year for us in a few ways, as we started the year with a completely revamped website and also launched our private label. We’ve never been afraid to admit that a lot of this journey is brand new to us & that we are learning much along the way. Many of our successes have come after monster failures, but we embrace the challenges and are always pushing ourselves to make the business and what we offer our customers better. In the past year, we have continued to grow our online business and also completely immersed ourselves in the design and manufacturing world. The truth is we feel very strongly that those are the two areas where we need to focus our time & energy going forward. While we are so proud of the store and community we have built here in Minnesota, we believe we have a chance to reach and help more of our fellow tall girls via our e-commerce platform. Who knows, you may even see us at a pop-up in the future!
We know this may be met with some disappointment from local customers who have always been so grateful for the chance to try things on in person, and we share many of those sentiments with you. It has been one of our favorite parts getting to know & help so many of you in the store, but unfortunately as a small business (which has always been just the two of us plus some helping hands on occasion), it has become increasingly difficult to justify the cost and grueling hours a storefront in a mall requires. Those two factors were truly the driving force behind our decision.
Though this chapter is closing, we are incredibly excited for the future. We have teamed up with some enormously talented and experienced people to continue to develop and expand our private label, and have some great pieces currently being produced (rompers, anyone?!). Our vision is to continue to offer fabulous hard to find pieces at affordable prices. As always, we love to hear from our customers on what they would love to see so please continue to share your wants & needs with us!
For any local customers who have returns or exchanges after February 18th, we can still absolutely take care of you! We will have you follow the same steps as our online customers and send items back, along with a copy of your receipt & contact information, to our Returns address.
